Patient consultation with SIDEXIS XG on the iPad®
Press release

RSWE has released the plug-in for the integration of the SIDEXIS XG, image processing software from Sirona, with the iPad® tablet computer.

Bensheim/Germany, 07/26/2010. Dentists are not only using the new iPad® tablet computer from Apple for private purposes, but also for patient communication and consultation. A new version of the SidexisMobilePlugin from RSWE enables the integration of data from the image processing software SIDEXIS XG from Sirona. Even when used with several treatment rooms and in group practices, individual images and entire examinations can be taken from SIDEXIS XG and called up conveniently and wirelessly. X-ray images from SIDEXIS XG are presented on the portable and brilliant iPad® display: the LED background lighting, a 9.7 inch screen size (diagonal) and a very large viewing angle ensure an excellent representation.

The SidexisMobilePlugin from RSWE enables the direct connection of Sirona’s SIDEXIS XG dental software to the popular iPad®, iPhone® and iPod® touch portable devices from Apple, Inc. All 2D image objects can principally be transferred from SIDEXIS XG. These include intraoral X-ray images, intraoral and extraoral video images, panoramic and cephalometric images, 2D views from GALILEOS 3D DVT, and images imported into SIDEXIS. It is possible to switch back and forth between individual images on the portable devices with one finger. Zoom operations can be intuitively carried out with two-fingers.

Operation of the application is as simple as printing images from the SIDEXIS XG application: one or more images are selected in the open SIDEXIS XG examination. This is followed by a single “click” on the SidexisMobilePlugin button. The connection to the previously registered iPad®, iPhone® or iPod® touch is now automatically established and the desired image data is transferred. This is then directly available for viewing on the portable device. Optionally, a complete view of the examination represented in SIDEXIS XG can also be transmitted. This means that all image and commentary data compiled in the examination is also available in an identical view on the portable devices. Data is transferred securely and, most importantly, very quickly via an established wireless LAN (WLAN) connection.

You can find details about the SidexisMobilePlugin for the iPad®, iPhone® and iPod® touch at the www.sidexisplugins.de website. A 30-day demo version is also available there.
